RE Cares about giving back to society:
Employing RE techniques and design hackathon for Valencia
We are pleased to announced that RE Cares 2025 is now officially an
RE Conference co-located event!
RE Cares is a series of RE sessions and hackathons to work with real stakeholders representing a non-profit organization
local to the conference venue, to elicit and specify requirements, as well as to develop an initial design for one or more software
products.
All RE participants are welcome to join RE Cares. We particularly encourage students to join us.
Objectives
RE Cares is the initiative, along with the 2025 Requirements Engineering conference, intended to help society by adopting the latest software engineering research and practice as applied to important societal problems.
RE Cares is an undertaking to apply our RE expertise and beyond to social issues and/or philanthropic undertakings in order to show we care and to "do good".
Event Format
RE Cares is a "Requirements Engineering for Social Good" event designed to help an organization local to the conference venue start the process of building software for a project with a positive societal impact.
Participants will apply their expertise in eliciting and documenting requirements and in assisting to build specifications and to develop initial design for a software product.
Beyond the Workshop: RE Cares is a Co-Located Event
After the Monday workshop, RE Cares will continue with a follow-on requirements elicitation session and a design session on Wednesday and an all day design-a-thon on Thursday.
