Monday 23 September, 2019
Requirements Day (all day session, in a workshop room)

9:00 - 10:30am: Introduction.

  1. Opening remarks by RE Cares organizers.

  2. Overview of Requirements Engineering.

  3. Presentation by stakeholders. Introduction to their problem, motivation, and the desired software.

  4. Short presentation by the organizers: describe what we know at the moment.

  5. Q&A with the stakeholders. 

10:30-11:00:  Break

 

11:00 - 12:30: Breakout elicitation session

  1. Presenting pre-gathered requirements and working on additional requirements using Design Thinking.

  2. Sorting of the information elicited thus far into categories.

  3. Breaking of participants into teams dealing with individual categories.

12:30 - 2:00pm  Lunch

 

2:00 - 3:30: Breakout elicitation session

  1. Continuation of the work from morning breakout session

3:30 - 4:00: Break

4:00 - 4:30: Reporting out: each team provides a quick report to the group

 

4:30 - 5:30: Preparation of Requirements Artifacts (SRS, other documentation). Part of this can be done in breakout groups (depending on how many artifacts need to be prepared).

Wednesday 25 September
Design Session

Plenary session: one slide / 2 minutes of time during plenary remarks about RE Cares; call for participation. 

11:00 - 12:30: Requirements Presentation

 

11:00 - 11:30: RE organizers report on Day 1, distribute Requirements Artifacts

 

11:30 - 12:10: Q&A with stakeholders, RE organizers regarding requirements

 

12:10 - 12:30: Planning design activities

1:30 - 1:45: Official RE Cares Photograph

2:00 - 3:30:  Breakout design session: multiple teams work in parallel (with stakeholders, or amongst selves) on different design aspects

3:30 - 4:00: Coffee Break

4:00 - 4:45: Continue breakout sessions

4:45 - 4:00: Evaluation of design (in our dedicated RE Cares workspace). Different design groups report out on their work. Preparations for hackathon are made.

 
Thursday 26 September
Continuous Elicitation and Hackathon

Morning: RE Cares Hackathon Session 1: design and development of a prototype

Afternoon: RE Cares Hackathon Session 2: design and development of a prototype

Note that the hackathon room will be open all day and participants can assist during any of the RE sessions.

Friday 27 September

Wrap-up and Short presentation at the RE'19 Closing Session
